I
have a Web Site on
Typing
Productivity and, with some colleagues, have developed
software
add-ons to text expanders that allow for faster medical transcription
(or any repetitive typing). But have to admit I have more fun with
the non-Qwerty kind of keyboard. One of my hobbies for some
time
has been composing music. The wonderful software and hardware music
tools available over the last 15
years have made this possible for people like me who do not play an
instrument well. I have finally
made the transition from an Atari
1040/Notator/ M1 keyboard/Tascam home studio setup to one in Windows.
I'd
like
to share
what I've
found out about music composition software programs as well as a bi
about media players,
MP3/midi/ wav files and the like. In addition I want to salute my
composition teachers and chorus
directors. I also have posted MP3 of
a few of my compositions, for those
who want to take a listen (style is neo-Romantic classical)..
Basics Some
very basic information and
links on
types of sound files, MIDI,
music and
the web, etc.
Compositions
Some piano and other pieces I've composed over the years. I've used a
variety of software programs - Notion, Logic and early on, Notator. If you want to... Play
a sample media file...find a good sequencer...find a chord analyzer...
Media
players and other
music software Links to
software media
players like iTunes, WinAmp that support formats such as MP3, MIDI, and
wav. Also a small selection of other music software - format
converter, CD burner, lyric hunters. People A
salute to my wonderful chorus directors, composition
teachers, favorite
composers, and others.
Sequencers / Notation
programs List
of software programs to
"wordprocess" your music, for anyone who is interested in composing.
These programs can do much more too. There
are dozens of them, ranging from ones that are free to those costing
$500-600.
Some
emphasize scoring,
some the audio side. Site
